Our take
The KAOSS DJ is a quirky but capable controller. Its touchpad is great for adding filter sweeps and delays without menu-diving. The effects sound good and are easy to tweak. It's USB powered, so no wall wart needed, and the built-in sound card is decent. But the build feels plasticky and the tiny jog wheels are disappointing for scratching. The touchpad can be imprecise at times. It's a solid tool for Serato DJs who want Korg's effects, but not my first pick for traditional mixing. For $243, it's a niche device.
